[The Scenic Route] Shadows

Hi there!

The Scenic Route column started because there are areas in my life that I want to nurture and strengthen.  I hope to pass this desire for more practical knowledge, brain power, spiritual strength, healthy living, and artistic appreciation on to all of you, so relax and enjoy the scenery!

Thought Provoking -
Repinned to my Pinterest quotes board.

Art/Graphics/Photography Appreciation -
Shadows from Sarah Loven Photography.
Mind Stimulation -
I will recommend a book a month.  Kind of an informal book club.  I've always wanted to join one. I love to read, but just the time commitment of a club is tough...so here's my form of a book club!  Once I introduce the next month's book, let me know what you think of the previous month's book in the comments section!  The assumption is that I will have read the book too ;-)

June Read:  The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
A memoir where, "Walls recalls her nomadic life with surprising affection...she unblinkingly examines how they (her parents) transformed hardship into family romance and adventure.  Sharing incredible, painful experiences in no-nonsense prose..." ---From Bookmarks Magazine via Amazon.com

Wellness Tip -
Get the rest you need.  Everyone varies in the amount of sleep they need, which on average is from 6 - 8 hours per night.  The key to a good nights sleep is the consistency, so avoid naps and sleeping in on the weekend.  For more on getting a good night's sleep, read this link from the Cleveland Clinic.

Verse Meditation -
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.  ---1 John 1:7, ESV.

If you haven't noticed, the scene this week is somewhat dark, like shadows.  We can really appreciate the light once we've been in the shadows, or be relieved from the hot sun in the cool shade, don't you think?  Let me know your thoughts and I would love to have your comments.  Thank you for visiting and being a part of my journey!

See you later!

Cheryl
